Just wondering what strap will fit the ED3 best.  I assume binos of this type all have similar loops or mounting points for shoulder/back straps, but would rather ask first than have to return something.

something like http://swfa.com/Zeiss-Binocular-Harness-P1792.aspx

is what I had in mind.

There won't be an issue using any of the standard bino harnesses currently available on the market. The neckstrap lugs on the binocular will accomodate them. I have two thoughts on the issue though. One, I have seen and heard of problems with the little metal o-loops included with these bino harnesses wearing down the metal lugs on binoculars. The problem with this is that there is no simple solution from a manufacturer perspective. The metal lugs are part of the entire binocular barrel so the entire barrel would need to be replaced or new lugs would have to be welded onto it. Having said that I would suggest, and have myself been using, just the little plastic zip locks/ties that are also included with these harnesses. I haven't run into any problems at this point but do inspect them regularly for wear. I would rather see one of the plastic ties fail and just have the binocular partially hanging from my chest because of it instead of having one of the lugs on the binocular break.

Just a thought.

Also, I recently had the opportunity to pick up a new binocular harness to hit the market and have been very impressed with it so far. I plan on putting together a more extensive review of it when I have the chance over the next week or so. Here is the link.....

I also have the S4 harness, and it is my favorite so far.  My one complaint is it still pulls away from your chest at the top when leaning over or crawling.  It does allow for very little bouncing.  No need for a rainguard or objective covers, either.

Overall, pretty nice, and reasonable in cost:
