Anyone on here own one? What are your impressions, good for a 17 hmr, Looking at the 6-24X50 or 10-40X50. How they compare to Mueller?

Sometime back, I did pick one up at a gun show and spent a little time playing with it.  There was a table right next to the table with ZOS that had Leapers and NcStar (and some other offbrand that I cannot remember off the top of my head... one of those things you try to put out to not take up useable memory space, if I ever see or hear of it again, I'll know it, but just don't have the name "at the ready").  Not surprisingly, at least to most on OT, they compared quite favorably... with each other.  There are models in the ZOS line that appear identical with Leapers and there are some that appear identical with NcStar.  Perhaps made by the same builder or they share designs, but there are some models that are simply indistinguishable from the other lines.  While they compare favorably with each other, there is really no scope line I can compare with except, perhaps BARSKA.  Glass is low quality, but useable, turrets are generally mushy, illuminated reticle models the reticles are generally too bright for low light usage, etc, etc, etc...  there is nothing I can find to recommend one of these for even a low dollar user.  If you want to play around with one and perhaps later use it as a target, they are cheap enough for that.  You can generally even talk the dealers down in price from their "show prices".  If you want to use it for hunting, target shooting, or self defense purposes, set your expectations at the "disappointment" level and you won't be disappointed.
