Ok yall first I would like to say thanks for all the input so far concerning my many questions that I have had. I have a new one and that is concerning how do the above scopes in the title compare. I have no dealings with ziess, and very limited dealings with swaro( i have a old set of swaro binos). I have reaserched it and found that I can get the ziess with the IR for what the swaro will cost me in a standard reticle. Is the ziess the better bang for the buck in this case, or would the swaro be the better deal without the IR. I have heard that the illumniation system in the ziess isnt the best, is that true?

Both are excellent and I would add the Leica to the list as well.

Also SWFA who sponsors this site has a 110% Low Price Guarantee. And they take very good care of their customers.

I have owned the Victory and used the Swaro, both are great scopes.

Illumination is nice in certain applications, but so too is a higher high end.

Both are certainly superb scopes. I don't believe one is necessarily "better" than the other optically. The Swaro has less "tunnel vision" on the lowest magnification settings than the Zeiss. In fact, the Z6 has virtually no tunneling, which I really like.

I do prefer Swaro's illumination system. I like the day/night memory settings with the toggle switch, and I prefer the amber colored illumination over the red. The amber seems to be ever so slightly more visible to my eye at lower intensities. I also don't like the Zeiss's illumination control knob on the side of the scope as much as the switch/button arrangement in the integral housing on the eyepiece that the Z6 has.
