I have been looking at the 6x36 Zen Ray ED2 binos ($369.95) for some time now. Actually tried to order around Christmas, but SWFA had them on back order.
The 10x43 Zen Ray ED ($289.95) listed above looks like a great buy, but what are the differences in the ED and the ED2.
I hunt in eastern NC, wear glasses and have a few stands that are on cut downs of over 300 yards.
The experts on this site have taught me a lot about riflescopes, but this is my first attempt to purchase quality binos. What is the best low light bino available through SWFA that I can purchase for less than $500.00?

Thanks

Frequently Aksed Questions about Zen-Ray Binoculars

Q. What's the difference between ZEN ED2 and ZEN ED binoculars.

A. The new ZEN ED2 is built upon the original ZEN ED platform by incorporating several advanced technologies on three models – ZEN ED2 8x43, 10x43 and 7x36.

The backbone of the ZEN ED2, prism coating, is significantly enhanced with the state of the art dielectric prism coating to maximize the total light transmission.  The coating was engineered with 40+ layers of nanoscale film with precise thickness control. Unlike metallic prism coating, our dielectric coating offers a superiorly flat curve, averaging 99% rate of reflectivity throughout visible spectrum range.  As a result, the users are able to enjoy a brighter image with a better balanced color tone.  A proprietary new Speed-Dial TM focusing mechanism with 30% faster focus rate is also developed exclusively by Zen-Ray to allow users to better track fast moving objects out in the field. The ZEN ED2 binoculars are designed to use under the most adverse weather conditions with its Argon noble gas charged waterproof chassis and new build-in CrystalView TM oil and water repellent coating.

Brady,

Thanks for the comparison of the Zen-Rays and for really confusing me (just kidding) with the fantastic price on the Vortex Razors 8x42. The differecnce in price is not an issue.  Considering I wear glasses (heard the Razors have great eyecups) and low light perofrmance is what I really need, which of the two is better? I am sure that I will get one of the two and respect the opinions on the forum. I have ordered from the Sample List before and have been exteemely pleased. Fantastic CS from SWFA.
Decisions, Decisions, Ddecisions .
