Was wondering why Zen Ray doesn't make any rifle or pistol scopes, I have a set of nice Zen Ray binoculars so know they know how to make great glass a great prices.  They could really shake up the industry by introducing 1000 dollar class rifle scopes at super low prices.

imho, brand recognition... how long has minox made binoculars, and good ones at that?  they've been making rifle scopes for a few years now and they're still looked on with skepticism.  Zen Ray hasn't been in the market that long and their binos, while (personally i think) superior, they're still looked at with doubt.

that's of course, leaving out the capitol they'd need to start up a new production facility and the engineers they'd have to hire, moving from fixed mag optical devices to variable optic devices.

All good points, but I look at Vortex, in only a few short years they came out with a whole line of good quality scopes and bino's.  But to me the Zen Ray with their bino's offer a  much better bang for the buck compared to the Vortex line of bino's. So why can't Zen Ray offer the same large bang for the buck in rifle scopes, maybe start with some simple designs.
