I am looking for a reflex/red dot sight for $400 or under and I see the Zeiss Z-Point on the sample list.  I really want an Aimpoint Micro or Trijicon, Tripower but they are about $200 over budget.  Does anyone have experience with the Zeiss and how would it compare to the Aimpoint or Trijicon?  I'm not sure if this should go here or the tactical section so mods can move this post if necessary.

Own all three.... what firearm, what is the use and do you plan to take it off and on?

I have a Z Point on a M1A Scout and have been very impressed.  Meanwhile... IMO if it were on a handgun the scope window on the Z Point is a little too confined. Also if I were continually taking it off and on different firearms I don't know if I would trust the spring loaded plastic mount. The auto reticle brightness is a great feature... as well as the solar charging ability.  Its a good product with its own niche

why not just get an Aimpoint Compc3?
under 400 bucks
ultra long battery life, rugged, etc...
you don't get night vision or the ability to go under 15 ft of water with it vs the more expensive units, if you don't need those features why pay for them?
it's a great optic

I plan on putting this on a Saiga 12 via a side mount but it could also end up on my M1A Loaded if I decide just to stay with the irons on the Saiga.   This would be used for deer and turkey hunting in all sorts of outdoor lighting.  I guess it would also be used as HD too.  Also my budget just went up to $500 so some other choices are available too.
