I'd bet the farm they are very, very nice. I wish they would have kept the 2.5-10 X 42, as I don't much like the 50mm + objectives. But, if I want a 42mm, I guess it's a 1.5-6X. Love the LotuTec coating and Zeiss is a top notch player. If you got the coin, go for it. Excellent

Not sure, this may be a marketing gimmick to increase sales. I'm  not sure how much more Zeiss could really improve their Victory line.

I have their Victory 3-12x56 and you can sit 2 hours past dark with that thing. Really how much better can a scope get?

ordered 2.5-10x50 with 60 ill. dont know what to expect. didnt have top scope yet.
it was funny, but my first choice was victory diavari, but I ordered varipoint 60 + asv. but zeiss dont manufacture them anymore in non-iC version. neither victory diavari illuminated, just non-iluminated.
so i left with only 2 choice for victory 50mm & illuminated & mount rail: varipoint iC or HT. i choose the last.
and salesman gives me BIG discountSmile

Yup. A couple of the big NYC optic joints have them listed at $2400 for the 2.5-10x50. I think I'll wait alittle while longer till they can figure out a way to charge even more for a riflescope.

After reading about them a bit more, it appears that even with all of this new technology, they keep going up in weight, even if it's 1-2 oz.  I would think that with all of the technology out there, they could be making them a bit lighter.  I still like my Swarovski PH series.  Good balance of lightweight and great optics.

i dont think they can be lighter AND stronger, reliable, for a good price. optics is from glass, and here maybe they cant do anything, and tube is from aluminium.
nothing fancy with titanium, beryllium or carbon, ceramics... for 5× price.

How much better can it get than the previous Diavari FL rifle scopes, really?  Huge mistake not having a 40-42mm obj to offer IMO.

Yup, if they want to market those here (successfully) they'll need 42mm models. 50mm hunting scopes were the schizzle 20 years ago.

There is a 3-12x42 on another site for sale (NIB) for sale by owner for $1400. Good deal for certain, but, mon-o-man that's alot of coin for a hunting scope.

I have compared Z6i 2.5-15x56 with Victory HT 2.5-10x50 in the eveing.

The setting on Z6i for the most of the time was at 8x and on Zeiss at 7x. I also compared them at same magnifications and the conclusion was always the same. Zeiss is noticeably better in low light.

Z6i on the other hand is still more versatile scope and better for all-round use.

PS.: Both of the actual scopes can be seen here:
