What are your thoughts on a Victory Diavari 2.5-10x50 Illuminated Reticle 44. I just purchased a 325wsm Browning for a hunting trip to Canada this year. I thought this looked like the perfect scope for this gun. Have a few conquests and victory FL binos and love zeiss.

Thanks

I have a Diavari 2.5-10x42... well, I DID... my wife has a Diavari 2.5-10x42 on what used to be my Voere Titan II 30-06... she loves it.  I used to like it a lot too, but didn't get to shoot with it very much... However, it is a fantastic scope.  The 50mm objective just makes it better (my opinion).

Well on one hand, you would want the best possible equipment but on the other........up there "in the snow" it is very easy to see well until way after dark. It's not like hunting these SC pine thickets. I have been up there once and it was very easy to see in the snow IMO.

Were you inquiring about the scope or your reticle choice? Or both?

The scope is fantastic! I have that very scope, although mine was made before LotuTec coatings were added, so if yours is recent, it's even better than the one I have with LotuTec. That coating works very well to keep moisture off the outer objective and ocular lenses.

The reticle you've chosen is very good too. I have a similar reticle on mine, the illuminated #8, which is just like the illuminated 44 except with the addition of another heavy bar in the 12:00 position rather than the 44's thin crosshair. Zeiss no longer offers the illuminated #8 reticle, and I like the #44 better.

You have a first class scope for most any BG hunting rifle. Enjoy it!
