Now this one is for the Zeiss freaks,i got a new one(Zeiss varipoint 1,1-4×24) which turns brighter during more light and goiing dim on low light.
Is it possible to turn that function off?
I would like to stay the dot in the brightness i selected it in,and not to go dim in low light.

Patrick B, I went to the Geman Zeiss Website and I found some useful info for you. It said the Zeiss Varipoint Automatically adjust the red dot intensity using the condition of the surrounding light, but it said manual control was still possible. Since it said manual control is possible I would look in the Zeiss manual and see how to perform the manual function.Website is zeiss.de

What you can do is manual adjust it ,for instance brighter, but when the enviroment lighting changes (darker) the dot goes less brighter again.

When you get back in the same light as you where it goes back to that same brightness.

That is a problem for me because i shoot most of the time on indoor ranges (ipsc)

Patrick B, Maybe you should call Zeiss about your problem or Chris might know the answer to your problem?

I allready called the importer in the netherlands with the problem and they say it is something you cannot change on the scope

Now i do not agree ,but i am not goiing to open such an expensive scope just to try something out.

But it should not be impossible to just block the lightsensor, because in the dark it turns on to manual brightness.

But I cannot even find the sensor,i think it is inside the scope.

By the way,who is Chris ?

Chris, is the owner of SWFA.  I wish I knew the answer to your problem. I would take it back to where you bought the scope if you are not satisfied with it.

The problem is that i am satisfied and it is the best scope i've ever seen (real bright and clear) so its a scope i'll never sell or give back.

But i now it can be a slightly better scope if you could also manualy use the switch for the red dot.
