Hi everyone.  I am looking for a new scope for my remington 300 ultra mag.  I like the Zeiss conquest 3X9-40 and was wanting some input.  Does anyone think a different scope would be better for the money?

I don't think you can do better than the Conquest without spending hundreds more.

Actually,

I really think that nobody can do better than a Burris for the money.  Especially one of their new XTR scopes that have every sort of an adjustment that you might possible want.  I recently bought a Black Diamond 4- 16X 50mm with side PA and could not be happier with the clarity and performance of the Ballistic Mil dot.  I have it on my .300 Win Mag.  Plus it gets into the illumination of the reticles, without breaking the bank.

I am sorry,

I guess the line was started about the 3-9X40mm of the Zeiss.  For that I would say that the Euro Diamond line is where you might want to compare with Zeiss for the money spent.  Burris also has a Forever warranty for about the same money, I believe...

Plus they also have the illuminated reticles in this line as well.

30810x,

Can you tell much of a difference between the Zeiss and the others in low light?   That is when I really need a scope to work for the hunting I do.  Thanks

Catt

I have the Zeiss Conquest and a Bushnell 4200 Elite both are awsome scopes.  I bought the 4200 for my father since he wanted a 3200 and I found a very very nice deal on the 4200 which he put on his .270.   So, we did a little side by side comparision.  During normal daylight shooting hours both scopes looked great and the difference was very minimal if there was any difference.

We waited till the sun went down and again did the test.  Again both scopes really pulled in the light, with no real clear winner.  We waited long after sun set when it was dark, well past shooting hours.  We were looking into a vineyard and was able to see a jack rabbit that was completey blackened out to the naked eye.  Again both scopes worked but the Zeiss now showed a bit more light gathering capability.  Pops words were "yep that is what your paying extra for right there".

I cant say enough about either scope.  I think the Bushnell 4200 is one of the best deals out there for the money.  Then again the Zeiss is a bit more money but I think you would have to spend close to $1000 to beat it in optical performance.  Scopes have come along ways in the last couple years a good Bushnell 4200 Elite, Zeiss Conquest, Burris Signature, Weaver Grand Slam, Nikon Monarch will provide you with great low light performance and excellent optics.   It comes down to personal preference.

I saw that the Zeiss conquest is assembled in the USA.  Does anyone know if they make the parts in Germany or somewhere else?
