I was looking on birdforum.net and noticed a lot of talk about people have some very bad problems from Zeiss North America on warranty service for their binoculars. Seems to be that Zeiss North America is not capable of repairing anything in North America anymore and Zeiss tells the customer they will have to be repaired in Germany which takes usally 3 to 5 months. Along time to be without your pair of binocualrs that the person paid usually well over a $1000 for to have bad warrnaty service come with the product. I love Zeiss optics but when I was reading these threads about the warranty service and the way Zeiss North America is handling the issues will possibly change my way of thinking about Zeiss products if I have a problem with any of my Zeiss products in the future. Technika what is the warranty for Zeiss products like in Europe? Thanks for any future replies!!!

In recent times I have only have one scope repaired, and that took less than a week.

I sent it back to Germany, and the service was flawless even though the warranty time had expired.

Costed nothing either........

I am satisfied with Zeiss

Regards Technika

It is best to have a stand by binocular for any repairs. Something like a Monarch or Pentax of the same format.

I am still interested in Zeiss, as they are fairly reliable and are not going out of business.

Tero good advice on keeping an extra binocular. As talking about the Zeiss North American Warranty, I was dissapointed to hear of people having very bad service from Zeiss North America from someof the folks on bird forum.net. I have always considered Zeiss the very best in optics IMO. I have spent several thousand dollars on their optics and I want their customer service to be the very best as well. I have never had to use their customer service I hope I never do. As far as customer service goes the people on their had some issues with Leica USA as well that were not good. Heard all good about Swarovski customer service. I have never been a fan of Swarovski myself though but that was good to hear they have good customer service.
