My father gave me these bins some 20 years ago, they have been rattling around my cars ever since.  I was going to get them cleaned up, but I am not so sure they are real now.  There is no serial number, and the "8x30" text is outside the box, not inside.  The leather case is black and not brown.  Any thoughts out there?

Here is a pic where the "8x30" text is outside the box lines.  The silver streak in the box is etched out, not paint.

The text in the center hinge washer(?) says "GERMANY" just above the screw.  Nothing else I can detect.

Thanks for any insight.

Chris

We have a member that works/worked at zeiss and is a subject matter expert.  Hopefully he'll see this post.  I would be really surprised if he can't answer your question.

Those are classic Zeiss Jena (that company is now Docter Optics). They are not particularly valuable, but could be reconditioned into a serviceable binocular. Here is a test:

edit:  Sorry, I see the original question was about if they were genuine.  I don't know about the Deltrinem, but the Jenoptem fakes had the cover screws in the wrong place.  Your cover screws look like they are in the right place.

I hope someone can help you out.

Check the serial number.  There must be at least seven digits, I think.
