My first time on here and a bit desperate for some info on the new dyralyte 3-12x50.Have just bought myself a new nosler 338win mag legacy and want to know if this scope will be able to handle the recoil for some years to come.I was really impressed with the clarity of the glass and the whole feel of the scope. Its about 30% cheaper than a swaro z3 so its really a good deal.

Welcome to OT!
While it is not realistic to say with 100% certainty what any given optic will or won't do
for years to come, I suspect that Zeiss will probably do just fine.

The Zeiss Conquests are some of the most rugged scopes available and since the Duralyte is derived from this same product family, I would assume that it is very a rugged scope.  Zeiss has not hesitated to recommend the Conquest line for the .338 Lapua.

If this helps, I had a Duralyt for a bit. It was mounted on two rifles... one a .300 Winny and the other a Finnlight 7mm-08. No issues what-so-ever. I too expect it will be ok on the .338 WM.

I am looking at the 2-8x42 but it might be on the bulky side for a mountain rifle.

It will be just as durable as a German Mercedes Benz engine.

Bingo. I thought it outweighed the Finnlight. Additionally, due to the short tube length, it may pose mounting challenges on some LA rifles.

Thanks for reply bugsNbow.. and yes bushveld i would venture to say the 3-12x50 would do fine although i have no experience with the duralyt.  Never had any problem with the 3 regular conquests I have own/owned, although I had/have them on all light kickers nothing like the 338 Lapua.  Good luck with your selection.
