Hi all,
I'm mounting a Zeiss Diavari 3-12x56 T* 30mm tube on a Tikka T3 and was wondering what height DNZ mount I'll need?  Will I have to go to the high mount or will I be able to get away with the Medium?
I havn't yet picked up my rifle and the scope is still on the way so I can't measure the scope height to check.
Anyone got a similar setup?  What the cheekweld like with the hight mount?
Regards
Craig

I'd go high mount, usually about 50mm is all you can get out of medium rings

I have several T3s and love them, it is a great gun.  I also have the 3-12x56 Diavari (freak'in great scope) and you will probably need high rings, it is a big bell.

Post pictures when it is all done.

What reticle of theirs is your favorite?

I love their 1. mil-dot, 2. rapid z varmint, 3. #61 like old redfield or leupolds, then the typical #4...

My Diavari wears a #42 reticle (almost impossible to find now.)  I like it!

Hi all,
Thanks very much for the replies, I new there would be someone on here who new the answers.

lucytuma  -  Thanks, I also got the same reply from Tim Coggins @ DNZ.  I found one on ebay in the UK and it's on the way ( I would have purchased directly from DNZ but like most places it seems like a real issue to send overseas, and I have not seen them in Gun Shops over here in Oz ).

Rancid Coolaid - This is my first T3, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.  It's frustrating waiting on the permit to acquire ( been over 3 weeks and still peering expectantly i the Mail box every day! ).  I've never owned a Zeiss before, but I have been lucky enough to shoot with a mate's rifle with one and it's an awsome scope.  This will be the best outfit I've ever owned so I hope it all comes together.  I've got a trip booked next April to hunt Red Deer in New Zealand with a mate so I've got some work to do between now and then to shoot the rifle in and find an accurate load.  I'm really looking forward to it and I've already got the Barnes Projectiles I'm going to start with ready and waiting.  This will be my first overseas hunt so I'm fairly excited.
Love the picture showing your Diavari Recticle.  I've got the #8.

338LAPUASLAP - I fairly boring in that I like the Duplex style reticle.  I would have been happy with the #4 or the #20 but this one came up at the right price.  I do like the way it's fairly clear in the centre allowing you to take advantage of the fine crosshairs in good light, but has the bold outers to guide your eye in when in very low light areas.
Awsome Avatar by the way, it reminds me of a video I saw on Youtube showing some Blackwater Merc's in Iraq.  The guy is plugging away like it's a Turkey Shoot, amazing footage.

308WIN - Yeah contrast is the go, especially when hunting in heavily wooded areas around dusk or dawn.  I've been able to pick up deer with my Swarovksi Bino's before and not been able to pick them up with the Scope.  Although this is the exception rather than the rule I'd rather be over scoped.

Congratulations. You did a really good choice. I have three of those scopes, one with nr.44 and two with nr.4 reticles and they are best of the best.

Hi 300grains, Thanks very much for the positive feedback.  I'm really looking forward to receiving it and getting it onto the Tikka.  It's the biggest outlay I've made towards this sport so I'm glad I seem to have made the right decision.
Cheers
Craig
