Zeiss 4.5-14x44 Conquest Rifle Scope DEMO-B

Product Grading Information

Stock # - SPL12849

Guys I just ordered one of these and I thought I would let you in on a tad more info about them. It may be listed as Demo B but they are not used scopes that someone owned and didnt like - they came directly from Zeiss as a "Demo" (so they probably laid in a glass case at some show display) and it has the full lifetime transferable warranty.  So these are a good value for a hunting scope at a BIG Savings .    This will be my first Zeiss so -- Brady  -  Pick me a Winner Party

You are going to be VERY happy, I think.  Excellent scope.

If I wasn't seriously considering purchasing a couple of rifles,  I would certainly jump on that.

Reticle: Rapid Z 800
I've been toying with the ideal of buying a Zeiss for about a year and almost bought one with the Z1000 reticle but since it wasn't going to go on a .308 that made me back off. The Z800 reticle though after a lot of careful consideration I am convinced is the one I want.  Typically I like to dial in correction but for a true hunting rig tactical knobs add another variable to be mis-adjusted by going through brush. I think this scope should be ideal.  I took the 3-9x40 off my musket a few months ago wanting a tad more power to get a closer look at the rack on deer to select. Right now I have a 4-16x40 Bushnell 4200 for the musket that came off my 300 WSM but that leaves me short a scope for the 300WSM and this should be ideal.

Why yes you did Baby-  that was just one more little nudge pushing me over the cliff to make the decision.
Then I ordered in an Aimpoint 9000L and it sat around for a month before I figured out what to put it on and I put it on an Encore Pistol  44mag -- SWEET its lots of fun. That left me with trade in material a 2x Burris pistol scope. Devil

That would be a real problem with a Rapid-Z reticle when tuning the subtensions to your load.

Why no, Dan, you didn't... that's the first I heard of this!

Why has it taken you so long to mention it?

I'm sure I'll get the scope figured out.  What I do is set it on the power I want and then shoot it at different distances and keep notes on which line corresponds to what distance at what power. I will probably chart it at 4.5X and at 6x and at 14.5X  to see what I get with my load. This 300 WSM Tikka is one I shoot a lot so it wont take long to figure it out.   Once its zeroed at 100 take it to other distances shoot a hole in the paper and put a marker in the hole large enough to see from that distance and see what line on the scope it corresponds to, from there is doesnt matter wht the marks are on the power ring because you are either stalking game on lowest power 4.5x or you are hunting in low light 6x or you are using every bit of magnification from a solid rest.  14.5x

This is why it's a must to verify your shots before hunting. I do find that odd though. I just checked mine, and no such problem exists on mine.

Wess, you should love that scope. I run that exact one on my Accumark, and love it. What caliber is it going on?

With my load, I run mine on about 10.5x-11x. It's a pretty mild .300 wby load. I used the zeiss calculator to get me close, and tuned from there. I figure, if it's far enough to need a reticle for holdover, 10-11x isn't too much, and still allows me a big enough exit pupil to see till after legal shooting light.
