When was T* Coatings first used on the Daivari Line? Reason being, I thought it was first introduced this year for 2007 and just want to be sure.

I don't know the exact date, but the T* was used on the Diavari Z line from start wish I belives was 88.

If the T*was used on Diavari ZA, I don't know.

No, LotuTec is Zeiss' new hydrophobic coating they added to their external lenses in addition to the T* coating that causes water to bead up and run off the lense surface so rain and external condensation doesn't obstruct your sight picture.  It is similar to Bushnell's "Rain Guard" coating.  Think of it as performing the same function that wax does for a car's paint.  It doesn't improve optical performance, only helps keep lenses cleaner.

Zeiss began using their T* coatings on various optics in 1979, though I don't know when the Diavari scope line was introduced.
