I was just wondering if anyone had heard if Zeiss is making any kind of changes in their Conquest line for '09.  I know that they recently signed a deal with Bushnell for the rainguard technology and was wondering if it will filter down to the Conquest line for 2009.  I am in the market to purchase a Conquest scope, but am willing to wait a couple of months if anything new is on the horizon.

Every company tries to add something new and exciting as often as they can - sometimes its worth the wait and sometimes its not. If you wanted rainguard why not buy a 4200 and have it now.  If you dont need it till next fall wait till then and see what comes out. Usually the Shot Show is where everybody introduces all the new goodies.

Zeiss already has an excellent water and grease repellant coating on their binoculars, the Lotutec. I don't see why they would buy such technology from Bushnell, unless it cost less. Or, perhaps they want to use the Rainguard brand and one of their own coatings.

IMHO, adding Lotutec to the Conquest line would probably jack up the price a couple of bills.
