Hi -

Looking for a scope for a Rem 700 in .300 Win Mag.  Looking at 3-9 in either the Conquest or Terra model.  I understand the Terra is new, however unclear on any advantages or disadvantage.  The one feature pulling me towards the Conquest is the Rapid-Z 600 reticle, however still wondering if its worth $150 more?

Primary use would be target and some hunting

Thanks!

I see someone else asked about this recently.  Any new thoughts?

I don't believe anyone has gotten their hands on a Terra scope just yet.

All I know about them is what Zeiss told me in an email:

They are supposed to be in the same general class as the Conquest MC optically.
They are being assembled in Japan.
The goal of the series is to directly compete against other mid range 1" tube scope price-wise, and in order to reduce costs to make that possible, options and models are reduced to minimum.

Being a fan of compact mid-power "tweener" variables, the 2-7X36 Terra appeals to me.

Update...  I ordered a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 with the Rapid-Z 600 on for $560.  Next day got a message the order was canceled because they are discontinued.  :(

Back online tonight found a Minox ZA 5 3-15x50 with SF and XR-BDC for $468.00 and ordered it.

While I was looking forward to the Zeiss, I just don't care for the z-plex or the rz6 reticles.  I hope the Minox offers the same optics quality with more features for $100ish less cash.  I will post some thoughts when it comes in.

thanks...
