I have experience with th Zeiss Conquest but have not owned a Bushnell since my youth.  Back then Bushnell was synonymous with entry level and sub par optics.  How does the 6500 series stack up to the Zeiss Conquest line.  To me the Zeiss Conquest sets the standard at mid priced scopes  in the $500.00 range.

Though I haven't owned a 6500-series, I've heard the glass is the same as the 4200 series (which I have owned.)

 I'd buy the Conquest.

ive had two if the 4200 elite scopes the glass is the same as the 6500. but of course they offer a higher mag in the 6500 range.

ive also had to conquests a no4 rectical which i sold. and still got the one with the zplex and its superb. my mate has got the 6500 model and well out in the field we tested them

my conquest imo is better. its sharper and better in low light and under lamp. on full mag its still pretty sharpe. where the 6500 was lacking when it got to the same mag

I didn't like the "rolling donut" effect I was seeing with the one 6500 I looked through, when it was set to highest power settings.

Just a nit, but that's what we pick around here, right?  :)

My other beef with Bushnell is that that is what is mounted on my kid's pellet guns.  I just can't abide that brand name on a serious hunting rifle.  Silly, silly... I know....

On the other hand Conquests have impressed me enough that I've more or less switched my rifles from Leupold over to Conquests, 3-9's (my favorite), 3.5-10, 1.8-5.5 (killer scope but physically large) and 6.5-20 on a long range rig.  I've seen nothing but excellent glass and- this is important to me- excellent mechanical tracking from Conquests.  For the money they cost I look no further.  But that's just me.

I've owned a 6500 for about 2yrs,I also own 3-9 & 3.5-10 Zeiss. The glass is sharper on the conquest but only on sunrise/sunset.I don't have the donut effect that JO has seen on the 6500,I would pick Conquest over the Bushnell in most circumstances. In wet/humid conditions I use the Bushnell because of the rain guard, also I like the fire fly addition.Best of the lot Conquest 3.5-10x50 period.
