Ok, I can get a Bushnell 2.5-10x50 or a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 for the same price.(450)

The scope will go on a Tikka T3 Hunter 30-06.  Mainly hunting whitetail deer in Central Alabama.  Some of the shots max will go 400 yards with average 200.    Looking for great low light performance.

Which would you buy.

If low light performance is most important, the 4200 2.5-10X50 will likely edge out the Conquest by a very slight margin at 7 - 10X.  Otherwise, I'd probably get the Conquest only because I think it's a tad better optically, I prefer the reticles, and I'm generally not a large objective kinda guy, except on certain specialty rifles.

I'd buy the Zeiss, I think the Zeiss is appreciably better.

And, the regulars know this is coming, take the rings that came with the rifle and throw them in the garbage!  They are pure crap (unless mounting a scope to a .223 or 25-06 or 7mm-08.)  Your gun will have some recoil and those crap rings cannot take recoil well.

I recommend Talley lightweights, it's what I prefer on my Tikkas.

The Conquest has better customer service and resale.

I'd take the Zeiss.  You'll really like the Tikka.  They shoot very well.

I purchased them today.  I had them put the only rings and bases they had in the shop(Leupold).
They mounted and boresighted.  The rifle came with a box of 150gr Winchester SuperX.  I hoping to get to the range with that and see how she shoots pretty soon.  Any other ammo I should try?

A lot of people say Federal Fusions are very accurate.  I've shot them in 270 and shot some groups well under MOA.
