Does anyone have any experience with the new Zeiss Conquest binoculars (8x40 T* ABK or 10x40 T* ABK)
Any opinions on the Conquest line of binoculars? How do they perform in low-light conditions? |

I tried out a pair of Zeiss Conquest 12x40's at a gun shop this
week. I took them outside (on an overcast and drisly rainy
afternoon) and poked around the edge of the woods out back. They
struck me as very light weight (especially for a 12x binocular) and
very bright. I didn't think they were sharp enough all the way to
the edge as you'd expect for a $500 binocular, but they were plenty
sharp enough for hunting. When scanning into the interior of the
woods from the outer perimeter, it was like someone turned a light on
when I peered at downed timbers and the like.
For 12's, I could hold them remarkably steady. The center focus knob wasn't as nice as my Kahles, but overall, I really liked the Conquests. But then again, I like most every nice pair of binocs that I handle. I didn't buy them, but I made a mental note that if I ever found a pair at a discount, I'd like to have them. Just my two cents. --------------------------- Take the long way home... |
