Hello,

I have been quite excited to see the fixed power Conquest scopes are out!  I did have a few questions about this line so bear with me.  I really want the 4x32 with the #2 reticle and see SWFA has it listed for sale.  Upon reading the description, I see that etched glass is mentioned.  What does this do or how does it differ from other scopes?  Is the Conquest line made in Germany or in the US?  Does anyone here have a Conquest fixed power scope on a rifle, and if so, how does it compare to other scopes you may have?  Thanks for your time and I think I see this scope in my future.

Conquest line is assembled in United States out of components brought from Europe.  Glass, I believe, is made by Meopta in the Czech Republic (Meopta is the largest optical instrument manufacturer in the world from what I've heard) and the mechanicals are made in Germany.

All in all, these are excellent scopes that offer tremendous value and quality for the money.

The fixed power Conquest has just been announced, and I do not think anyone has gotten their hands on it yet.  I would expect it to be just as good as the other Conquest which is to say you'll be hard pressed to do better for under a thousand dollars.

The Conquest is my favorite line of scopes.  And as Koshkin said, you have to spend a lot more $$$ to get better quality.  Most scopes still use wire reticles which can break.  Glass etched reticles essentially remove the possibility of a reticle malfunction.
