I am a newbie to big game and probably need more than one set of binos for my uses but want to put it to the experts here. Hunting will be deer in Ky which means fairly close range. My other opportunities include land in Wyoming and Texas owned by clients who want me to join them. As I understand it deer, elk, antelope, and I don't know what else. Further I have a very good friend who is a ph in Alaska who's wanted me to come for 10 years.
I've hunted small game and waterfowl for 30 years never needing optics but I believe I will need them know. Having read all I can find in the sub $1000 price range the two above appear to be good.
All recommendations appreciated and thanks in advance. Your thoughts? |

Everything but the size is better with the Zeiss 7x42 (clarity, light transmission, exit pupil, field of view, eye relief, etc.). I would rather have a 10x42 for what all you plan to do and the best under $1,000.00 would be something from Kahles, Swarovski, Zeiss or Leica on the SampleList.com site. If there is nothing there now just check every week or so. |
