I'll post this in this forum since it seems to get the most views although it's really more of a target question.  I'm curious why the Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20 isn't more frequently seen on long range target setups?  Around my area you see mostly some version of the 6.5x20 Leupold VX... and Nightforce scopes.  Not a lot of anything else.  I know it's only a 1" tube but isn't the Conquest tough enough to hold up or is it something else?  Anybody got any ideas?

The 6-20 only has a 1" tube and that makes for less internal elevation. The Zeiss only has 45.4 MOA. A 30 mm tube will greatly increase the adjustment. The Super sniper has 120" MOA. You can see how this can help at long range. Most serious long range shooters realize that 20 power can be to much magnification at times of heavy mirage.

Yeah, I know the Zeiss is only a 1 inch tube but you can use rings with inserts or a canted base to get it out farther.  A 30 mm tube does have the MOA generally but still wondering why you don't see more of the Zeiss.  Maybe that is the answer though, although I know a lot of people use a canted base with just about any of their scopes.  Out here in sunny NM, mirage is always a concern, even on some days in the fall.

a lot of it is due to reticle choice, which is lacking in the zeiss line. also you're not saying what kind of long range sets.
F-class, precision tactical, long range bench etc.???
