Any experience with Zeiss Mildot reticles? I have a Conquest I'm considering having converted, but have not had a chance to look thru one. Have my adjustments in MOA and reticle in mil might be problematic, I guess. The reason I think I might want one is for holdover purposes.

I do like the Zplex currently in the scope though, so I don't want to change it if the #43 isn't great.

Welcome to Optics Talk.

I'm a fan of the Z-Plex reticle for hunting. I feel it's one of the best pure hunting and all around shooting reticles out there. I have no experience with reticle you mentioned, but I guess it depends on what type of shooting your anticipating.

The Zeiss is a second focal plane scope. Using the Mid-dot works better with a first focal plane scope. The SS 3-9X40 or the SS 3-!5X42 would be better and is mil-mil.

Had a mil-dot in a 4-14x42 Conquest. Liked it, until I found a mil reticle that didn't cover up a small target at range (SS 12x and SS 3-15x).  If it was I, I would keep the conquest if it was OK, and get a mil-mil that fit my type of shooting.    YMMV   HowdyBandito

I'm thinking you're right. The z-plex is too good a hunting reticle to mess with, and have mismatched reticle and turrets seems awkward. I will leave my conquest like it is.
