Just making myself nuts looking at a all the choices for a light kicking rifle for the kids and wife to shoot. What do you think about the 260 rem vs the 25-06 vs the 7mm-08 never shot any of these how does recoil  compare in similar weight rifles to each other and compared to a 30-06

I personally think the 7-08 is more versitle, alot of bullet weights to choose from, though I love the flat shooting 25-06 and I also have a .260 the nod must go to the 7-08.

Hard to beat a 7-08.  Even though it's mild recoiling, it isn't too light for most big game hunting, and so it's a rifle you never "grow out of."  You won't likely be able to tell the difference in recoil between .260, 7-08, and .25-06.  I'd say they all have a little more than half the recoil level of a .30-06.

I will quote my wife, who grew up hunting with a Rem. 700 .30-06, after shooting the Browning A-Bolt Micro Medallion in 7mm08 I set up for her.  "I like this, it's light, short and doesn't kick bad at all"
