Interested in your opinions on a first time pair of binoculars for my son.  I definitely want waterproof binoculars and probably want to stay around 32mm due to weight issues.  I don't want crap for glass but don't want to spend a lot either as he is really rough on stuff and has a memory about 10 seconds long! Big Smile  They will get lost!

Anyway, suggestions would be appreciated as I don't have much experience with this level of binocular

The Leupold Yosemite is ideal. less than $100.  Another good choice would be the Vortex Raptor these are about $130.

The Yosemite was designed for kids from the outset.

What about the spitfire and crossfire from Vortex?  Any experience with these?

I have the Yosemite 6x30's.  They're a great value and sized right.  Easy call.
