Chuck Roberson was Duke's double and stunt man ever since 1949. He also stunted and doubled for Randolph Scott, James Stewart, Clark Gable, Gregory Peck, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas. He also was a second unit director.

Last night I watched THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALENCE

I saw a few inconsistencies in it.

First of all I noticed fake saguaro cactuses stuck in the ground in Southern California. So I guess that that was supposed to represent Arizona. 

The folks were trying for statehood....well Arizona didn't become a state until 1912. 

Twenty five years go by and James Stewart and Vera Miles come back for John Wayne's funeral....which would have made it 1937.


So what state could it have been? At the end they still had the old-timey train...

Also costume foul-ups. John Wayne's shirt changes colors a couple of time at the end. It goes from black to tan and then back again.   Shocked



But it was a goodie.

I just got the Blu-Ray DVD in the mail. It looks fantastic! 1948. Robert Wise's first Big Movie as director. What a home-run!
