This happened almost 2 weeks ago, and if not for a network of friends, I wouldn't know about it.

A friend of mine that is a big impoter and dealer in firearms, lives in a rural area in south central Ky., and his buisness is on his property.
He came home late one afternoon with his wife. When he got into his house he was confronted by a man dressed in camofloge and a mask. With a fake hispanic accent the man said he was there to rob him and he was serious. At that point the intruder shot my friend in the leg. My friend, who is a combat veteran and a cancer survivor then ran to his bedroom and retrieved a semiauto AK-47. There was an exchange of gunfire between my friend and the intruder. My friend was shot in the stomach, but only after he had shot the intruder, and then shot the intruder again after being shot in the stomach. The intruder died at the scene. My friend was transported to the hospital by STAT Flight where he is expected to make a full recovery.

The news media in my area will report every murder, highway death, and shooting in the state, BUT I never heard one mention of this on the news. Had my friends not contacted me, I would not have known about this until maybe the fall MG Shoot.

How come the news media never covers stories where a gun in the hands of a law abiding citizen saves the day?

Oh, I have enough details that I have not shared, to know that the intruder's intent was to kill my friend and his wife.

You see, if you grease the wheels, you can keep them from squeaking.

Glad he was able to fight back. That is pretty sad when the media ignores a positive story like that.
