Here we go againÖ

I have an old .300 Weatherby that Iím tuning up for an elk hunt next fall. Iím thinking of either mounting my old (circa 1982) 2.5x8 VXIII on it, or getting a new scope all together. Choices for a new scope are VX-L in 3.5x10x50, Swaro AV in 3x9x36 or 3x10x42 in a TDS or Ballistic reticle , or perhaps a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44.

Hell, I Ďm not sure Ė but I do know that I want it mounted low, as I prefer a good fit and quality to HUGE glass. This may seem crazy, but I plan to mount the scope on my Knight MK-85 for deer hunting too. (Did I just make a purist cringe?) Suggestions?

Brother, you'll have more traffic for this thread if you move it to the Rifle Scope forum.

This is the Test & Review forum.

Welcome to The OT.

Put the 2.5-8 VXIII on the Blackpowder permanently . It is the right magnification range and should be a good match.  Mount the Swaro 3x10x42 on the Weatherby . Not sure the motive for wanting to move  the scope back and forth with the Knight, but with a hard kicker like the Weatherby-stick with strong ( non detachable) mounts , site it in and keep it there

Thanks guys!

You will have to excuse me, this is my VERY first time to do on of these forum things... and I thought that I DID put it in the Rifle Scope Forum. Test and Review?...  Huh...

Well, how do ya change that? I see the forum jump down below - But I probably have to repost the original question again somehowz... I'll try that.

Thanks again!

Your fine. I just wanted your thread to get more exposure on the Rifle Forum.

You can either repost in Rifle Scopes or I can move it for you.

If you bought the scope that long ago, it's probably a Vari-X III and not the newer (and brighter) VXIII.  You're going to love the increased brightness in the newer scopes!  Have fun shopping!
