OK, I have a dilemna.

Do I buy an XOTIC now, or wait another 6+ months for a Super Sniper Variable?

I don't mind waiting (actually I do, but that's beside the point).  I can use my Zeiss 4.5-14x44 scope for now, but I want to get a mildot scope, at least 16x, FFP reticle, that will serve me for target shooting, tactical matches (if I ever get into those), and varmint hunting.

The XOTIC and the SS Variable seem to have what I am looking for.  The SS has higher mag (4.8-20x42) , and is lighter and probably will be less expensive.

What does the XOTIC have that would justify my getting it vs. waiting for the SS variable?

The warranty the XOTIC has is hard to pass up.

X.O.T.I.C. is so confident that you will be pleased with the purchase of your U.S.S. that they offer a 30 day no questions asked money back guarantee with each and every scope sold.

After that each scope has a two year direct-replacement warranty, meaning that the shooter will not have to be without a scope in the highly unlikely event that the scope fails.

And as if that was not enough each scope is then backed by a full lifetime warranty.

You could get the XOTIC now. Try it out and if you think the lighter higher powered SS will suit you better. Just simply return it and wait for the variable SS's.

Don't count your chickens (or ours) before they hatch.  The SS variable only exist on paper right now.  XOTIC plans on raising the prices to where it should be...... as the $799.95 was introductory.  You can get an XOTIC and use it until the SS variables hit and then sell your XOTIC for more than you paid for it (hopefully).

If you always put off buying something today in lieu of something coming in the future, you will never buy anything.  Should I get a new truck now or wait for the 2006 models????

Not yet but we are trying to keep it as low as possible with out jeopardizing quality and durability.

Ask yourself if you really need a variable power scope for some specific purpose.  If you do not then why not consider the SS in 20X or 16X which are proven to be durable and reliable.
