My neighbor makes these things. They work really well for getting rid of those bee's that burrow into wood.

I've seen similar and they did kind of work. Just don't paint / shellac them... they prefer raw wood.

Mike, my neighbor brought one over to the house when I moved in and gave me one as a gift. He sells them out of his house where he crafts them by hand.

According to him, you put them up next to where those guys are present, with only water in them, and the bees go in through pre bored holes, they look down, see the light in the water and head straight for it, thus drowning.....Bucky

I'm not sure I understand all I know about how they work, but I can say that we had a TON of these bee's flying around the house when we moved in, we put up one of these, caught one bee, and the rest left town.....I know that sounds hinky, but it's true. There's ZERO bee's around the house now.

Thanks Mark! We joke around that our cabin, basically a lean to, is going to one day crumble on top of itself because these wood bees have been burrowing through the wood supports for decades now.
