Took this buck on Tuesday Nov 8th of our deer season at about 0740.  For those familiar with Ontario we hunt about 40 miles SW of North Bay.  Really mild for this time of year, 40F a bit overcast.  Was dogging along a high rock ridge in the hardwoods when another young fellow I was training was kind enough to kick out a big doe and this fellow trailing about 30 feet behind.  A lot of luck involved because they were really in high gear, made me glad to have the semi-auto in hand.  First two shots missed or were deflected, put the third through his shoulders.  300 grain Hornady's worked very well.  Glad there were a bunch of guys around to help drag him out 'cause I'm getting too old for that nonsense.  Weighed in at 202lbs on our scale back at the camp.  Good start to the week.

Thank you gentlemen.  It is kind of gratifying to show the young fellas in camp that we may be over the hill but can still get lucky once in a while (you can read that any way you want).

p.s. in the interests of full confession.  The scope on my rifle was bought at XXXXXX because I can't talk Chris into opening a Canadian branch of SWFA, hell I can't even get a hat with the proper logo!
