I just purchased a Noreen ULR 50bmg and have been looking at a scope to put on it for a while now. From everything I have read and looked at, the SWFA SS 10x or 12x seems to fits all of my needs. But my major concern is will it hold up? Anyone with experience in this matter, please let me know.
Thank you

I refer to my old SS 10x as "Old Faithful". If I have a scope that's flaking out, I grab OF to see if it's the scope, or another problem.

I have 100% confidence in my 10x SS and just as much in my 3-9x SS.

Welcome to Optics Talk.

YES, a 50 cal will kill almost anything it hits! But if the scope is sitting on top of the said 50 it will be safe from the beast! 😅

I had my SS10xHD on my 50BMG for a long time, couple of years... no issues at all.  It is now on CZ700...

Steelbenz, I guess i could have been a little more specific Excellent
I have had a few friends, fellow shooters, who have had some major problems with the scopes they put on their 50s. I had read that they were rated for a 50, but they had been told the same about their choices also.

I have the 20x SS on my Safety Harbors 50 BMG. Around 100 rounds so far with this scope. Zero Problems. Can't beat the price and warranty of the SS scope. Go for it.

Good to see you have a good sense of humor! You know there's one of us in every crowd! Welcome to the OT by the way! It's a great scope, one of our member ran over his rifle and SS with a truck without issues! I will let said member fess up if he so desires!

I have some 10x42 SS scopes on Beeman R1 airguns. They hold up very well to the abuse.

I would trust any of the SS scopes on a 50 Cal.  Some kick harder than others, but the few I have shot have recoil similar to a 243 or 270 due to the weight and muzzle breaks.  I think there are other rifles and calibers that are harder on a scope than the 50s are.

Very true helo. My .338 winmag was a beast and flat out hurt to shoot. It went through a few lower end scopes while I had it.
