WikiLeaks has released some top secret documentation on the imminent launch of a new scope set to revolutionize riflescopes. The company is not named.
The documents reveal that one only need to zero the scope at 100m. Once this is achieved, the rifleman then fires a special bullet, supplied on purchase, at the maximum distance the shooter expects to use. A transponder fitted inside the bullet then relays critical information back to a microprocessor inside the riflescope. This information is converted to ballistic information, or bullet drop.
The scope then automatically adjusts the reticule elevation to this data when the target is "locked". Apparently the reticule glows green once it has ranged the distance and locked onto the target, a process that happens in milli seconds.

The US Military snipers have allready ordered some of the proto models for testing and are fuming at this leak.

Below is a picture of the scope off the WikiLeaks site.

here's an anecdote to go along with your excellent gag :P

i work on a military installation.  as such, i'm subject to the military's rules concerning classified information and not to long ago we were informed that we were, under no circumstances, to visit the wikileaks site.  basically the gist is this, just because it's posted on this site, on the internet, for the world to see, doesn't mean it's not still classified.  and a big rule in classification is, if you don't have a need to know, you shouldn't.

anyway, the comedy...  this thread was blocked.  i can read any other thread on the site, but this one... most probably simply because wikileaks was in the title.

happy april fools folks :)
