No, not at all! Haha, where did that come from? I talked about swapping actions for a smaller caliber, but truth be told with that Limbsaver, it reduced the recoil quite a bit. I'm keeping that sucker for a long, long time.

I love the 300 Win Mag.  Great round.  And I don't think the recoil is that bad.  I put a limbsaver on mine as well, and now it is a pleasure to shoot.  Makes a huge difference.

Great looking gun, and from your target in another thread, a great shooter.  Looks like a keeper to me.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I figured that the black scope and bipods will help with the black limbsaver, instead of a stainless scope. I think it looks quite good, and it's a tack driver for sure. I will leave this one alone for a while, and maybe change out glass if I decide to get another stick. Maybe that Zeiss.....

The tan and stainless looks great. It's amazing how good some of the tan/brown stock colors look great with stainless steel.
The HS is a great stock. I have one in black with the spider web pattern. It looks pretty good with a matte black action and barrel. The stock you have also looks great with blued metal.
That is a great choice in caliber, action and stock. The 6500 rounds it out excellently.

Can't complain for only having $1000 into it, thats all. I was really excited the way it turned out. My wife wasn't so sure about it at first, because she liked the factory sendero color, but then decided to tell me that its growing on her. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I can't complain with H-S whatsoever on their craftsmanship or ability to do a excellent refinishing job.

Mike, what procedure to you use to take the black paint off the fluted barrel.  I'm assuming this is a SFII and it had alternating black paint in the flutes.

I actually bought the Limbsaver from Cabela's, but returned it since H-S Precision supplies their own, which is who makes the stocks for the Model 700 Senderos. Id check Limbsaver onlines catalog for your make and Model, and read the How to remove a Recoil pad thread to do-it-yourself, which should be under firearms.

It came that way from the guy that I had bought it from for $500. From what I remember the conversation was that its the first gen of the SFII which didn't have the black flutes, but I could be wrong.

I used to, an older Sendero like Mike's minus the new stock color. Should have kept it.  Sad

I'm completely happy with only having spent 500 for the rifle, 500 for the scope from SWFA when it first came out, and 100 for the bipods. H-S did the job for 135, which actually was only for the installation of the Limbsaver, but they do their neutral paint colors for free, actually threw in the stainless swivel studs and two new action bolts for free as well.

Sounds like it was worth the wait, and HS took pretty good care of you.  Now get out there and get some more trigger time Head Bang

I've already gotten a box through it, its in the range report section. But the thing is I am about to move from Washington to Louisiana in three weeks so alot of time is still spent at work and packing. The other thing is that the range that I attend is at the base of the mountains, and right now the weather is pretty wintry. I may have one more shot at the range, and I'll end up using their 550yd range for some targeting.
