Neb here! Bought a silver VXII 4x12x40 mm aver a month ago.  It matchs my rem 700 LSS beautifully!  Finally found and ordered a Leupold one piece base and rings for in in their silver color, THINKING it was the same as the scope.  They finally came yesterday and I'm a little fummed.  The bith rings and scope (bought from different websites) are almost gunmetal in color, even thought the package says silver.  Mounted everything up last night and it looks like crap.  Called Leupold today and got some BS about how the scope and rings are made of different materials so there is no way to match the color.Head Banger

So...does anyone know who makes bases and rings that match Leupold silver scopes? I've seen them before so I know they exist. Thanks and rant off.

The game reaper mounts from DNZ products are VERY close, but not a perfect match, the closest that I have seen anyway. I have a set of black ones on my mountain rifle and I can assure you that it is a top notch product!  www.dnzproducts.com

Call SWFA and ask about Talley LW rings, they are made of aluminum just like your scope, maybe they will match.

Thanks, I called SWFA and they were very helpful.  They recomended the Leupold Rifleman at first, but when I asked about the Talley they said it was a "real close match".  Now...one or two piece?  I've always gone with one piece in the past.

If you are referring to the Talley lightweight series integral ring/base mounts, the silver rings for Rem 700 are only available in 2-piece.  On a hunting rifle, I personally prefer 2-piece bases, as there's no chance that the base will block any portion of the action port and I also think 2-pc looks much better.  The "strength advantage" of 1 pc bases is way overrated, as well-designed 2 piece mounts are more than strong enough for hard use.

Those are 2-piece mounts.  They are 1-piece in the sense that the rings are integral with the bases, but they are 2-piece bases.  The info on the Talley website is confusing.  There are very few 1-piece mounts available in this series of scope mounts, and the only ones I'm aware of offhand are for T/C.  See pic in link below:

I think the confusion was 2 piece base and 1 piece ring set instead of 1 piece base.  When I hear 1 piece as compared to 2 piece I think base.

OK, I see where the miscommunication lies here.  I'm referring to the same rings as you are, but I call those rings 2-piece.  Open the link above and you'll see I'm talking about the silver versions of the same rings you have posted.  Yes, that series of rings is all 1-piece in the sense that the rings are integral with the bases, but when someone mentions a 1-piece mount, they are usually referring to a single base that bridges across both the receiver ring and rear bridge.  Those are still considered 2-piece mounts because there are 2 separate mounts there that aren't connected together along a single rail.  Talley does, in fact, make a 1-piece mount in that series, but it isn't available for Remington.  It looks like this...

That's what I'm referring to when I say "1-piece."
