SWFA has owned the SS line for several years now.  They have started expanding the product line the last couple with some great new scopes.  SWFA is all about  Customer Service and Quality.  The price point is almost always well below comparable competition of the same quality!  The one thing I will say is, it drives many of us nuts that they stead fastly refuse to launch a new product before they are happy with it.  But thats a good thing....just frustrating when ya know it's coming!!!

But don't take my word for it.  I invite you to research around.  Check other shooting and Optics forums.
Snipers Hide, 24hr campfire, Long Range Hunter, etc...  I am confident you will find high praise for the SS line of scopes.

BTW....Welcome to the OT!  Hope you stick around awhile.  Tons of information and experience here to draw from and they are always looking for new talent too.  Something for everybody...please enjoy!

Welcome!

As Ilya said above, they're manufactured in Japan (LOW plant being one) which many top of the line scopes are being made these days.

And as Bud said, SWFA has tremendous CS and back their products to the 110th degree. Doesn't hurt that the quality of optics being put out there is VERY GOOD and come in at a lower price point as they aren't dealing with 3rd and 4th parties. As far as i know, the scopes are shipped directly to SWFA and go onto their shelves for sale.

Check around the net for reviews as well. Many of the popular forums have great reviews up and SS does very well with those who really know optics.

My classic fixed SS had a Kenko Inspection sticker on it. The newer HD models are made somewhere else. But it really doesn't matter, as SS scopes are made to SWFA's specs and Subject to their excellent quality control and customer service.

The SS line is a very good value for the price.  I have several of them and like the ones I have.

Other than being made in Japan, the rest is a closely guarded secret.
I've had two, and still have one. Both are quality optics, and SWFA will stand behind their products.
That's been my experience and I will not hesitate to look at then SS line first for my next scope.
