Talley makes a few different models and their all great. Are you concerned about weight?

(Pasting from a word doc doesn't work very well on this website.)

No real concern about weight, since the Cooper weighs 8 pounds on it's own. Somehow I don't like the look at the top of the scope with the protrusion from the closure there instead of on the sides. I also like the idea of one less, unnecessary, clamping set being involved.

(I saved the posting to Word when the site went down for maintenance, but now see the consequence)

I have Talley fixed rings on some of my rifles. They don't add that much weight to make a difference and they are rock solid.
If the Cooper comes with Talley bases, that is what I would do.

I have the "fixed" on two of my rifles. I think their the best looking of the four models.

The weight difference between the  Talley "light weight" model and the rest of their line is noticeable while resting in one's hand. I don't know the exact weight difference.

Totally understand!!! Big Smile

If I'm using a word doc (to spell check, saving doc, etc.) I'll paste to note pad, then copy/paste to my post. I know it's an extra step but then you don't get all the extra stuff.

I think the one piece will be fine for your application and if its more pleasing to your eye it is a must.

A rifl should be sweet looking as well as sweet shooting.  Sometimes the mounts can alter the appearance of a rifle dramatically.

I looked at a few more photos with the Talley Standard rings, decided that they weren't bad at all, and bought a set when I purchased the Cooper. I decided on a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 Ballistic Turret which the Talley low rings work with... just.

I never posted a photo (on this thread) with the very close clearance using the low Talley rings on my Cooper, so here it is. I had to file the bottom of the bikini cover to get it on the front objective. I've since switched to a Swarovski Scope Guard which makes life easier.
