I've never owned a pair of Steiners.  I have always been put off by the lack of center focus and the bulky look of them.  But the more I read about them, the more I want to try a pair.

Having said that, I'd rather not spend a lot of money... thank goodness for the Sample List!

I'm looking at the $100 porros and thinking that one of these has got to be better quality optics than the others.  I'm interested in the sharpest image and the best view during the day.  I've got really nice foul weather binoculars already, I intend to use these just to find out what Steiners are like and serve as a second pair of 8x porros...

Which of these has the sharpest image in daylight lighting situations?

# 1324 Steiner 8x30 Pilot Sport

# 1326 Steiner 8x30 Safari

# 1329 Steiner 8x30 Firebird

# 1325 Steiner 8x30 Rallye

Chris--I'd really appreciate any insight you could give.  It's so tough to find out the basic information on Steiner; things like prism quality, full or partial multi-coating, and eye relief are next to unavailable on the web.

Thanks!

Don't even consider the Safari or Firebird.  The Rallye and Pilot Sport are the same binocular, Steiner replaced the Pilot Sport name with Rallye about 10 years ago.
