I've got a browning a-bolt synthetic in 30-06 caliber trying to mount a Ziess 3-9x50mm scope. I've got the Leupold base on the gun and was planning to use high style rings. When I put the scope on the rings - there was alot of space between the bell and barrell and the scope was too high off the stock. Way more than I've ever seen. So I got some medium rings and put the scope on those rings - those will work put I have to mount the scope up further than I wanted to b/c the bell and the barrell will touch if I don't slide the scope that far foward. I've looked around - but apparently Leupold doesn't make a medium-high style of rings. Any thoughts as to what you guys think or what anyone else has used. Thanks in advance for any help.

I may be way off here, and I'm definately not real familiar with mounting scopes, but I think that the Warne rings are slightly higher than other brands of rings that I've seen.  For instance the medium height warne rings might be slightly higher than the leupold medium rings that you have, and may bring the scope up just enough so that you could mount it a little further back.   I could be wrong, though.Big Smile
I guess it would depend on the type of bases as to whether the warne rings would work.

Warne makes rings that will fit the Weaver style of mounts.  I have had really good success using these mounts and rings!  I have not tried putting them on an X-Bolt.

I'd look at either a Dednutz one piece or a Weaver base with Burris Signature Zee rings.
