So folks, Pump action .22lrs: The powers that be have decreed there is a chance I could get another .22lr. Thinking a pump action. So, big question: FN Trombone (https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/rifles/browning/pump-action/22-lr/210407130207044) ![]() ![]() ![]() - or - Winchester 61 ![]() ![]() ![]() (https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/rifles/winchester/pump-action/22-lr/model-61-210407130655019) So, what do we think, folks? |

I like my Kimber Bolt action.
If I had a choice on a pump I’d rather go Winchester.

The Trombone is a winner. I don't think there are too many patented designs from Browning that aren't worth having.
Our family had a Winchester model 62 that was stolen from the cottage 50 yers ago. Browning had a lot to do with the Winchester pump 22's, also. The browning looks better to me, not having the external hammer.

I don't have any experience with the Browning pump 22. I love the Winchester 61. Over the years I've had Winchester 62, Winchester 1906, Remington 572....
I always wanted a Remington 121 but I never got one. I never had a scope on those pumps.

I do like the Trombone, had one before when I lived in Switzerland. There is also another Trombone for sale that is a bit less money: https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/rifles/fabrique-nationale/pump-action/22-lr/trombone-200806163939003 ![]() ![]() |

I really like the round knob grips on Browning Superposed shotguns and it sure looks great on that Trombone. But, the last one you posted looks like it would clean up nicely.

My father had a Winchester 61... superbly accurate, Don't remember it ever having a malfunction.
The FN is a great 22, as well. As SVT said, I don't see how you could go wrong with either.

perhaps you haven't heard of the empty gun case ploy.
Leave the house with an empty gun case your, taking it to the smith or some other excuse. And it come home full for some reason...
