I mentioned this in another thread and I'm anticipating taking a Leupold VX2 2-7x33 and sending it to have them install the CBR crossbow reticle in it and reduce the parallax setting. Their regular Crossbones scope is on a VX1 platform with a 40 yard parallax setting. I'm hoping to improve the overall quality of the image/brightness with the VX2.
Leupold's normal instructions is to use a 20 yard zero and the adjust the mag ring until the 4 subtends for 30-40-50-60 yards align. I intend to use a 30 yard zero and use the subtends for 40-50-60-70 yards. The scope will probably fall in between 5x and 4x magnification, and I was thinking of having the parallax changed to 50 yards. I would think shooting 40 - 60 yards would be fine with that setting, but how big an issue is there shooting the more likely 20 - 30 yards distances? Or is it going to be a moot point for those distances providing I stay centered in the eye box?
