My wife has just told me to pull the trigger on the kahles 10X42. I was going to buy the pentax sp's in 10X42. My question is, should I save the extra cash and get the sp's or go ahead and get the kahles? After all, I have the wifes permission!!!  I feel like I would like the to have the kahles, but dont want to spend the extra cash if the pentax are just as good. I have read that the kahles are built to last forever, what is the verdict. Thanks for youre help.

I prefer the Kahles, but they are close.

First I would find out if I saved the $$, would I be allowed to spend it on other stuff that I want.

If yes, I would buy the Pentax and then start looking at something else and make my wife think I was really going to buy myself more cool gear. Then I would use those savings to buy her something she has wanted for awhile.

If no, I would buy the still Pentax anyway and then buy her something she has wanted for awhile.
