I just purchased a new CZ 452 American in 17 HM2 and need a scope to go on it.  I've narrowed it down to these three.  Nikon Prostaff 3-9X40 - $149  Bushnell legend 3-9X40 - $128 and the Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40 - $168.  I wanted to stay at $149 or lower so the Elite is a little over budget.  So how would the prostaff and legend stack up against each other besides the $21 difference?? thanks

Welcome to The OT!!

I can't comment on the Legend.

The 3200 is OK.

The Nikon Prostaff is weak.

The Nikon Buckmaster though, which I realize is a tad bit more expensive, is a heck of a buy and a good, rugged scope.

I'm sure you'll get some other comments from the gang shortly.

Stand by!!

I like your sig line too!

The 3200 is the class of the three you mentioned.  It's fine but not fantastic.  Have you considered looking @ the Sample List?  There are some very nice scopes listed there for under $200...

thanks for the replies.  What about the quality of the Weaver V9 in this mix?  I have been looking at that scope as well.  How is the glass in the Weaver compare to the prostaff?

My buddy, just bought a Nikon Prostaff with the BDC and I was impressed for the money.

I would buy one...

I'm not a fan of the Prostaff, Nikons cheap line. If you step up just a bit you can get a fantastic scope in the Nikon Buckmaster.  The Bushnell 3200 is ok good. Again if you step up in the Bushnell line to the 4200 Elite AWSOME scope but it's a big jump in cash.

Also check out the Burris Fullfield.  Personally for the budget minded shooter out there its very hard to beat the Burris Fullfield or the Nikon Buckmaster.  They are not much more money then some of the cheaper alternatives but MUCH nicer class at a minimum cost increase.

Happy shooting

AC
