Hey Guys,
I need help deciding...... I am looking at the Leupold Northfork Binos. There are 2 models offered....8.5x45 and a 10.5x45.

I turkey/deer hunt in the midwest...lots of woods, but lots of open fields and have a 10x36 bino now. I like the 10 power but.....

Question is, what do I want......the 8.5x45 with a 5.29 exit pupil and 346 FOV or the 10.5x45 with a 4.29 exit pupil and 324 FOV ?

The bigger exit pupil is better right ? But I like a 10 power......would the 4.29 exit pupil on the 10.5x45 be ok ?

Thanks a ton in advance.....

Personally, for the close in Turkey and deer hunting, there is no way I'd want a 10x.  You will get a wider field with the 8.5x, brighter image, less eye strain, and a binocular with less image shake.  However, the degree of magnification is a purely personal matter and if you happen to like 10x, well, maybe your decision is made.  Personally, I don't feel the 10x does anything that the 8x won't do, unless you are really reaching out into the great yonder.  The 8.5 seems to me to be a better balance for what you describe.

While a bigger exit pupil maybe better, it ends up that the best coatings win.  Look real seriously at the Zeiss Conquest 8x30's

I'd also go with the 8.5x, I think this will be more usefull under the conditions you described.
