So for whatever reason I have kept all my brass shells after I fired my 9mm. I guess I figured that brass was worth something, but honestly I have no idea where I am supposed to take it to get anything for it.

Is there someplace I can take it to get any money for it? Or am I better off dumping it in my recycle bin?

if take the primers out of them you can sell the brass as scrap at a scrap yard. other wise if its once fired you could probably sell it online.

The caretaker for our company lake and gun club doesn't make a lot. I "donate" all my brass/steel/aluminum to him. "and because I do I get 16 minnows when I buy a dozen" Oh Yea Baby

I'm pretty sure he knocks the primers out and sells them to the scrap metal guys.

So my next question is, how much is brass worth? If I take the time to knock out all the primers on each individual shell, how much is a pount of brass worth?

I once took some aluminum heads from my car to a scrap place. They were easily 20 lbs worth, but because they found once small part of the heads that weren't aluminum, they gave me like $3.28 for them. I know for a fact they made a bit of money off me that day just because I was sick of trying to sell them elsewhere and I wasn't about to try and find something to cut the heads apart with.

I meant a pound, as in 16 ounces.

Nice, I'll keep to posting :)

Perhaps I will put them for sale on here. But I wouldn't even know how much to ask.

I would have to check, but I think I have around 300 9mm brass shells.

They would be worth more to a reloader, brass /per Lb is not that much, maybe a buck or two at best. 300 rounds of once fired..... Maybe ten bucks! But I hate the 9mm.

You could try Gunbrokers.com  They sell a lot of reloading supplies there and you could see how much they sell for.

Oh I wasn't thinking that, I was doing that cause it was nice that you just said you'd take it from him and he doesn't have to worry about selling it anymore.  Kinda like "when a plan comes together"

I'm not insulted, but I'm not going to go through the trouble of boxing it up, go to the post office, get the shipping cost and then ask to be re-imbursed, all for "nothing".

So my 9mm rounds are worth $10-$15 at best. Thats fine. I'll just wait till I have more empty rounds to sell, or until someone wants to pay me for the actual shells (even if its not much).

If they're all the same brand it helps. When you get to 500 they will be easier to move but, will still only net around 20.00 + shipping. Good luck!

Guess you could fill the bathtub up about 1/2 way with em and roll around on em naked like Scrooge McDuck.

Gift the brass out to someone who reloads, you might get hooked-up with very reasonable 9mm ammo at some point.

Karma is a funny thing. Ying Yang
