I have a son he's 4, he'll be 5 in January 2016. I guess in about 10-15 years small game hunting things like squirrels, the average shots will be 250 to 300 yards to make it a sport. And shooting at big game like deer everyone will be using a bow by then or the shots will be 400 yards average.

Look at Zeiss' top of the line long range scope family. 1.8-14 is considered a starting point. Look what they just sent me via email.

Unreal.

No end in view. Just when you think they have reached the full potential of what glass and coatings will do then steps in digital smart technology. Now as long as your "smart scope" can mark the target you just have to decide when the round leaves. There may come a time when it fades some or is made unavailable to the masses but not anytime soon. Pretty cool though huh!!!

Good grief! Soon, you will have to hire a porter to carry your equipment... the damn scope will weigh 5# by itself.

It still takes trigger time, wind doping and extreme skill to hit a target further away then you can touch it !!!!
