So i was wondering what the OT brethren owned in this category. I was finally able to get my wife her first pistol for a Christmas present and myself a new XDM over the past few months. I've shot some 6 shooters (357/44 mags, 38 etc), but never owned one.

Would those of you who have/do own any revolvers let me know what they were/are and how do you like. Pictures are always welcome. Big Grin

Big fan of the Ruger Super Blackhawks. We bought one for my brother for his wedding in 45 LC. My favorite that I ever shot was a Freedom Arms 454. That is my dream gun right there when it comes to revolvers.

S&W Airweight that I use as a ankle gun or when I just running out and don't wanna carry something heavier.  4 rounds of Hornday Critical Defense and 1 shotshell loaded at all times.  Got a speedloader i keep with it with 5 rounds of back up CD if needed.

Let me see if I can find the picture of the Dan Wesson

Not the greatest pictures but I will have some more after the weekend.  I am testing the Vortex SPARC out on this bad boy this weekend.  Dan & Wesson in 357 mag.  Love this gun.  Buttery smooth trigger and accurate to boot.

I've always heard that S&W revolvers were much more thought of than their auto counterparts.

The only S&W auto I had I liked it was the 910S  shot ok but wasn't that accurate.  I did shoot a buddies M&P and liked it but your right, they are better known for the wheelguns than the autos.

My buddy in the pan handle of Texas would like to get rid of his.  The .327 is a red headed step child and grows more everyday.

686, 649,  USFA Rodeo .45 (THE p-frame clone)  The 686 is a pet, otherwise she is big to carry.  The 649 is named American Express, but has been replaced by a NAA Guadian, same reason.

The Rodeo is to show my buddy I can beat him at his own game.  If I were serious about that game I'd get a pair of same thing in .38. MUCH better put together than the pony.

As much as I would like a model 18, for the money I'd get a model 41.  The Model 41 is the only -really- really good Auto S&W makes.  A lonely model 15 is always a thought; same for a clean Speed-Six. N -frames and the larger Colt frames don't fit me.

I'd like a Pre-War .32-20 or .38 Police Positive.  Most of the D-frams after the 50's are tooled like crap.  If you find a clean one don't be suprised if it won't shoot or is rough. Freedom Arms if you want a Pre-War Quality gun.Wink

If you lady has to have a revovler then I'd suggest a S&W 60 or 649.  Get a Duty trigger job.   Those are 90% of Women's fav's.  The K- Frames are next. Then it's Auto's like the PPK and the Hi-power.  IT has alot to do with trigger reach.   The K's are smoother, but have a longer reach.  Your not going to get as smooth a trigger with the J.

Long ago I had a Colt SAA 45.  I loved it.  But had to sell it when the oilfield collapsed.  Had a 22 Colt New Frontier......same thing......shot about 50,000 rounds through it.  Had two Colt Peacemaker 22s also....

Had two S&W Model 19 357s.   They were nice but I traded them away to buy rifles....

Right now I have a Colt Officers Model Match 22 that will probably be buried with me....!!     Bucky
