I have been looking for a scope for a new calling rifle. I just happened to be in Dick's (ya I know!) and they had a Ziess 3x9x40. I am looking for more power than that. And the higher power Conquest's are a little more than I wanted to spend. But, a lot of guys speak highly of them. So I thought I'd take a quick look-see. They looked nice and bright. But, there sure seemed to be a lot of plastic around the turrets. And the caps were plastic. And I must say I thought the clicks would have a much nicer feel to them on a scope of this caliber. WDO

Welcome!!

While I continue to rave about the Conquest and have owned one, the plastic turret caps make me kooky too.

I don't like them either and I emailed Zeiss about it a year ago or more.

Still an outstanding value in the scope market. The best in it's class, as far as I'm concerned.

Best wishes.....cheaptrick

Hey cheaptrick, if they got rid of the plastic, do you think they could hang with the 4200's?

My time spent with the 4200 is limited.

I shot a rifle with one a while back though.

I thought it was decent, but the Conquest is a little better too me.

Eye relief looked a little suspect, but I didn't have any issues either. I don't seem to remember the caliber of the rifle.

I would also prefer to see steel. but I have never experienced a problem with any of my Conquest.

I know none of us would never do this, but those plastic caps are nice should one happen to roll off of your shooting table and get stepped on.

It looked like to me that not only the caps were plastic but the threading and dial part of the turret were also.  In addition, I guess I expected a nicer/more precise feel to the "clicks".  WDO
